    German is the second most popular foreign  language to learn in the EU and ranks among the top 10 most frequently spoken languages in the world.

    Over 10 percent of the total student population in Germany are international students. In new research undertaken by the British Council, Germany came in first place in three categories of higher education: openness; access and equity; quality assurance and degree recognition.
